Keighley ABC Awarded Community Development Grant from Keighley Town Council

Keighley Amateur Boxing Club (Keighley ABC) has been awarded a £2,863 Community Development Grant from Keighley Town Council, providing vital support to help the club continue offering affordable, sustainable, and accessible boxing sessions for the local community.

For more than 50 years, Keighley ABC has played a key role in bringing people together through boxing. The club has helped generations improve their physical health, build confidence, and develop valuable life skills. As a not‑for‑profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, every penny received is reinvested directly into sustaining and strengthening the programmes relied upon by local residents.

Keighley Town Council highlighted the club’s long‑standing contribution to the community and the importance of supporting grassroots organisations:

“Keighley ABC is a fantastic local club that has been bringing people together through boxing for the past 50 years. This investment will help keep sessions affordable and accessible, ensuring more people can benefit from everything the club has to offer.”

The grant will directly support one of Keighley ABC’s weekly Open Sessions, designed for more experienced boxers aged 10+, teenagers, and adults. With rising costs placing increasing pressure on community organisations, this funding will help ensure the club remains sustainable and able to deliver high‑quality sessions for all.
