Our Story
Keighley Amateur Boxing Club (Keighley ABC) is a well-established boxing gym located at Keighley Business Centre on South Street in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We offer training for individuals of all levels, whether you're looking to compete, train for fitness or improve mental wellbeing.
The club has served the town since 1972, founded by John Quinlan who was a respected figure in the Keighley boxing community, after his passing, his legacy continued through numerous coaches who were, and still are just as committed to providing equal opportunities through boxing for the Keighley community. In 2008, Keighley ABC moved from Walk Mills (also known as Quinlans) to the Keighley Business Centre.
As an integral part of the town’s heritage, we remain committed to evolving our programs and empowering individuals to engage with the sport. With decades of experience, we understand how community boxing can promote social inclusion, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by offering structure, discipline, and a sense of belonging.
Our Coaches
Keighley ABC is affiliated with England Boxing, this ensures that our coaches are fully trained, DBS checked and operating under nationally recognised standards for safety, safeguarding, and coaching quality.
Affiliation gives members access to regulated competitions, medical supervision, and an official talent pathway, while also ensuring the club follows strict governance, welfare, and insurance requirements. It connects us to wider community programmes and development support, strengthening our ability to offer safe, inclusive, and high‑quality boxing opportunities for everyone in Keighley.
