Local Boxing Club Launches Inclusive Boxing Fitness Course for People with Parkinson’s

Keighley Amateur Boxing Club, in partnership with Parkinson’s UK, is launching a Boxing Fitness Course designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s. The initiative aims to promote physical wellbeing, social connection, and confidence through accessible, non-contact boxing-based exercise.

The course will be held at the Good Shepherd Centre, West Lane, Keighley, BD22 6ES, on the following Thursdays: 30th October, 6th November, 13th November, and 20th November, from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Participants can enjoy a gentle warm-up followed by approximately one hour of tailored exercise, concluding with a relaxing warm-down and refreshments. No prior boxing experience is required. Carers are warmly encouraged to attend and take part.

“Boxing can help improve motor skills, enhance balance and posture, and support cognitive function,” said Steve Kennedy of Keighley ABC. “This tailored course offers a safe and enjoyable way to stay active. We’re proud to provide a welcoming space where people with Parkinson’s can move, connect, and build confidence.”
